2023-24 D1 Arkema: an average attendance of 1,274 spectators per game, +39% on 2022-23
An average of 1,274 spectators attended D1 Arkema matches during the 2023-24 season, an increase of 39% on the previous year (914 spectators per match), the Fédération Française de Football told News Tank Football on 11/07/2024.
The 2023-24 season of the French women's football championship, won by Olympique Lyonnais, recorded a total of 173,394 spectators in the stadiums, an increase of 44% on the 120,701 the previous year, noting that there were then five fewer matches as play-offs were introduced in May 2024 (first leg semi-finals then final).
Other key attendance figures at D1 Arkema stadiums in 2023-24 include:
• an average daily attendance of 7,224, compared with 5,486 in 2022-23;
• four matches drew more than 10,000 spectators, compared with two in 2022-23;
• 33 matches were played in front of at least 1,000 spectators, compared with 18 the previous season.
