England: Martin Glenn appointed as the new chief executive of the FA

Martin Glenn has been appointed as the chief executive of the FA (English Football Association), announced the body on 06/03/2015. He will assume the role on 18/05/2015. The post of CEO will replace the position of Alex Horne, the outgoing FA general secretary.

Martin Glenn, 54 years old, will leave his post as the CEO of United Biscuits, a company which owns the brand McVitie's and Jacobs. He had previously sat on the board of Leicester City FC (Barclays Premier League) as a non-executive director between 2002 and 2006.

  • "I very much hope my personal experience of operating in highly competitive global markets will help The FA in its own drive to promote greater success for our all of our national teams in international tournaments," stated Martin Glenn.
