Transfers: German Federation adapts to new FIFA regulations regarding intermediaries

The committee of the DFB (Deutscher Fußball-Bund, the German Football Federation), announced new regulations for clubs and player agents, the body announced after its meeting in Frankfurt (GER) on 13/03/2015. These new standards mandate the presence of an intermediary in the signing of any professional contract between a player and a club, and the drafting of an official document stating the agreement between two clubs regarding the transfer of a player. The new regulations come into force on 01/04/2015, the same day as the new FIFA regulations on the subject.

The new regulations also require all intermediaries working in Germany to be registered with the DFB. Additionally, each time an intermediary is involved in the completion of a player contract and/or transfer agreement, the action must be recorded into the DFB agent registry, along with documentation submitted to the DFB and/or any other relevant football bodies.
