FIFA: "Democracy and football lose" at the CONCACAF Congress, according to Luis Figo

"When some speak and others are silenced, democracy and football lose (...) The candidates for the FIFA presidency were not allowed to speak in the CONCACAF congress but some campaigning interventions took place without being in the agenda," said Luis Figo, a candidate for presidency of FIFA, in the context of the 30th Ordinary Congress of CONCACAF in Nassau (Bahamas) on 16/04/2015.

Like Ali Bin Al Hussein (JOR) and Michael van Praag (NED), the other candidates for the presidency of the international federation, Luis Figo (POR) was present at the Congress of CONCACAF, but was not invited to speak to all the federation presidents of the region. Joseph Blatter (SUI), the current president of FIFA who, on 29/05/2015, will be a candidate for to a fifth term as head of the body he has presided over since 08/06/1998, did speak at the conference.
