"Discrimination in football remains at record levels," said Kick It Out, which presented a report on its activities during the 2024-25 season on 05/08/2025.

The organisation, whose mission is to combat all forms of discrimination in football in the UK, explains that it received 1,398 reports during the last financial year, compared with 1,332 in 2023-24, 1,007 in 2022-23 and 610 in 2021-22. It also specifies that all professional and amateur levels, including youth competitions, are concerned.

"The data, drawn from reports across the professional game, grassroots, and social media, shows increases in sexism, transphobia, and faith-based abuse, alongside consistently high levels of racism, which remains the most reported form of discrimination," added Kick It Out.

Reports relating to sexist and misogynist behaviour have increased by 67% (from 115 to 192), with a growth in online abuse where reports of sexist content are up by 72%.
