Atlético de Madrid: strategic partnership with HEP (tech) to implement AI solutions at the Metropolitano

Club Atlético de Madrid (LALIGA EA Sports) have entered into a strategic partnership with American technology company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to implement AI solutions at part of a modernisation plan of the Riyadh Air Metropolitano (70,460 capacity), announced the club on 16/02/2026.

The American group will benefit from the status of official partner, i.e. the third level in the Spanish club's sponsorship hierarchy, until 2026-27. As part of this agreement, both partners "will completely renew the stadium's communication infrastructure with the installation of more than 1,500 Wi-Fi access points managed by AI. This project will enable the Riyadh Air Metropolitano network to operate as a dynamic system capable of anticipating real-time needs, ensuring a smooth and continuous connection for our supporters," said the club.

This new infrastructure will also "significantly reduce its electricity consumption by allowing internet access points to switch to maximum energy-saving mode when no activity is required nearby. In addition, HPE will provide the club with advanced analytics…
