"We (the Swiss Office of the Attorney General, or OAG) note positively that banks in Switzerland did fulfill their duties to file suspicious activity reports (regarding FIFA). In addition to the 104 banking relations already known to the authorities, banks announced 53 suspicious banking relations via the Anti-Money-Laundering-Framework of Switzerland," stated Michael Lauber, the Swiss Attorney General, at a press conference in Bern (SUI) on 17/06/2015.

The Swiss investigation follows the actions of the US Department of Justice. "A 47-count indictment was unsealed early this morning in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, charging 14 defendants with racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering conspiracies, among other offenses, in connection with the defendants’ participation in a 24-year scheme to enrich themselves through the corruption of international soccer," announced the US Department of Justice on 27/05/2015. Seven senior international football officials (who were among 14 indicted) were arrested in Zurich (SUI) on the same day.
