A total of 6,259,584 spectators have attended matches at the 2026 World Cup ahead of the quarter-finals, which begin with France - Morocco on 9 July, for an average fill rate of 99.7%, FIFA, the tournament organiser, announced on 8 July 2026.

That figure has been reached after 96 matches: the 72 group-stage fixtures, the Round of 32 and the Round of 16. It represents a new all-time attendance record for the tournament, with eight knockout matches still to be played. The previous World Cup attendance record was set in 1994, when 3.58 million spectators attended matches in the United States.

The 1994 edition featured 24 teams and 52 matches, whereas the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico, is the first to involve 48 teams and 104 matches.
