2026 World Cup: France guaranteed at least $27m in FIFA prize money after reaching semi-finals

France (Fédération Française de Football), after defeating Morocco (2-0) in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup on 9 July 2026 and becoming the first team to qualify for the semi-finals, is guaranteed to receive at least $27m (€23.6m) from FIFA, the competition organiser.

FIFA has allocated $27m to the team finishing fourth at the 2026 World Cup and $29m (€25.4m) to the winner of the third-place play-off.

France’s prize money could rise to $50m (€43.8m) if Les Bleus win the tournament, while the losing finalists will receive $33m (€28.8m).

France will face the winner of the Spain-Belgium quarter-final on Tuesday 14 July (kick-off at 21:00 CET), while the other semi-final will pit the winners of the Argentina-Switzerland and England-Norway quarter-finals against each other.
