Tennis: record prize money of $108m (€92.8m) for the 2026 US Open, up 20%

The 2026 edition of the US Open (Grand Slam) will offer record prize money of $108m (€92.8m as of 20 August 2026), up 20% from 2025 ($90m / €76.8m) and 44% over two years from 2024 ($75m / €67.6m), the organiser United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced on 20 August 2026. This marks the second consecutive 20% annual increase. The 2026 tournament will be held from 23 August to 13 September 2026, with the main singles draws beginning on 30 August.

The men’s and women’s singles champions will each receive $5.5m (€4.7m), "the largest winner’s prize ever awarded in tennis," according to the USTA, rup 10% from the $5m (€4.26m) awarded in 2025. The runners-up will receive $2.8m (€2.4m), the semi-finalists $1.45m (€1.25m) and the quarter-finalists $780,000 (€670,750).
