FIFA: former Nigeria international Segun Odegbami intends to stand for the presidency

Segun Odegbami, the former Nigerian international, announced his intention to be a candidate for the FIFA presidency, on 01/09/2015. "The world is very interested in who becomes the next president of FIFA, considering the current image and state of this institution and I see myself fitting into this role," said Segun Odegbami (63 years old), on 01/09/2015.

The Nigerian, who made 46 appearances for the Super Eagles from 1976 to 1982, is the sixth man to announce his intention to run for the presidency of the international federation. The vote will take place during an extraordinary Congress in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016. The deadline for applications is on 26/10/2015. A candidate for the presidency of FIFA shall only be valid if they are supported by at least five of the 209 national federations.
