Parc des Princes: two years of work to compare to the best in Europe

Renovations to the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain's home ground, have been planned in accordance with UEFA standards for host venues of Euro 2016. The works will begin right after their last home fixture of the season against Brest on 18/05/2013.

"It's about improving the quality of a good number of areas of the stadium with an emphasis on design and aesthetics," said Jean-Claude Blanc, managing director of PSG told Le Parisien on 24/04/2013.

Two rows of seats will be added to the gap surrounding the pitch. PSG also want to create a 500 m2 family enclosure, increase the number of VIP tickets (2,000-4,500) and renovate the locker room, in order to align with the requirements of Europe's biggest stadiums. "You have to compare it with the best in Europe," added Jean-Claude Blanc. "We're going to optimise every existing square metre."

The works, with an estimated cost of €100m, should be completed by summer of 2015. The Parc des Princes will then be integrated into an urban project, supported by the club and the City of Paris council. "We want to find ways to increase the capacity…
