"My 11 years at FIFA (1999-2010) are not a handicap for me, in fact they represent an advantage. Because I know what to keep, what to improve and also what to change," said Jérôme Champagne, FIFA presidential candidate, to News Tank Football on 06/11/2015.

The Frenchman, 57 years old and former deputy secretary general of FIFA, is one of seven candidates for the presidential elections scheduled in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016. "I know football and the world, but moreover, I know and I love FIFA. This means that I can start to work from the morning of 27/02/2016, the day after the election," he told News Tank Football.

Jérôme Champagne, who was unable to present his candidacy for the elections on 29/05/2015 due to the lack of written support from the necessary 5 of the 209 FIFA member federations, now says that: "A good president without reforms will not work; and having a bad president with reforms will not work either. I also think that one reform alone is not enough, but a series of reforms must be implemented."
