"Those who oversee football must do more to cut the levels of discrimination that still exist, on and off the pitch," said Issa Hayatou, the acting president of FIFA, on 13/11/2015.

"For FIFA, this means putting pressure on the confederations, our member associations and clubs to enforce our regulations and to apply punishments that will deter bad behaviour," added the man who has replaced Joseph Blatter at the head of FIFA, since the latter's suspension for 90 days, on 08/10/2015.

"It is time for our 209 members to deliver individual action plans to tackle discrimination. Each association has until 31/03/2016 to submit a structured, ambitious plan," said Issa Hayatou in a column entitled "No place for discrimination", published in the FIFA Weekly magazine, on 13/11/2015.

"There is still much for us to achieve, but we remain committed to positive change" (Issa Hayatou, full article on 13/11/2015)

"The equality movement has made inspiring progress - from the fight against racism to the empowerment of women, and greater rights for people of all sexual orientations and identities.
