FIFA: "Two-year ban and 160,000 Swiss francs fine or suspension for life" (Sepp Blatter)

"It is shocking to see in the press the findings of the investigatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, which indicates only two possibilities: two-year ban and 160,000 Swiss francs (€148,000) fine, or suspension for life. There is no privacy in this operation, which is a cornerstone of the Code of Ethics. I know this because I have created this Ethics Committee," stated Joseph Blatter on 16/12/2015, on the eve of his appearance before the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee in Zurich (SUI) on 17/12/2015.

The FIFA president was suspended for a period of 90-days from any activity in football by the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee on 08/10/2015. This body said on 23/11/2015 that it would endeavor to make known the final sanctions in December 2015.

"Let me be very clear: in football, I have never in my life done anything I should reproach myself on the plane of my consciousness. There is talk of (poor) ethics, or in terms of law, we talk about criminalities. I can go to any court with a clear conscience," said Blatter in an interview with three European daily…
