On 27/05/2013 Crystal Palace beat Watford 1-0 in the Championship play-off final to win a place in the Premier League and a jackpot worth up to £120m (€140m).

The London club is guaranteed at least £63m (€73.6m) in TV rights revenue next season. Even if the club are relegated back to the Championship next season, they are guaranteed an additional £59m (€69m) in parachute payments.

In 1998 the club entered administration but was bailed out in 2000 by Pocket Phone Shop co-founder Simon Jordan.

However, the club found itself in administration once again in 2010, owing £30m (€35m) to the taxman and creditors.
In summer 2010 the club was taken over by the CPFC consortium, headed by Steve Parish. Just three years later and the club have reached the Premier League and their finances look healthier than ever.
