"I think there is a problem here when some clubs put prices up very rapidly every year, even though so much of the money for football actually comes from sponsorship, equipment and other sources," said David Cameron, British Prime Minister, during Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons on 10/02/2016.

David Cameron was speaking in response to a question from Clive Efford, a Labour MP, who asked about a possible intervention by the Prime Minister for Premier League clubs to allow fans to be heard on the issue of ticket prices.

Approximately 10,000 Liverpool FC (Premier LEague) spectators left Anfield Stadium (45,500 seats) in the 77th minute of the match against Sunderland AFC (2-2, Premier League Matchday 25), on 06/02/2016. The fans were protesting against the increase in price of the most expensive tickets (excluding hospitality) at Anfield in 2016-17, as the club had fixed ticket prices at £77 (€100) for the most important matches. These actions were coordinated by Spion Kop 1906 and Spirit of Shankly, two Liverpool FC supporters' groups.
