The replacement of the FIFA Executive Committee by a FIFA Council of 37 members, including a president elected by the Congress and 36 members designated by the confederations, and the separation between the political and business management functions of FIFA, with strategy defined by the president and the Council but day-to-day operations run by the secretary general (who would function as the CEO of FIFA) are two of the key reforms that will be submitted to the FIFA Extraordinary Congress in Zurich (SUI) on Friday 26/02/2016.

In addition, term limits have been proposed, with elected officials not able to serve more than three terms (consecutive or not) of four years, but this measure would not be retroactive.

The disclosure of the remuneration of the president, the members of FIFA's future Council, and the secretary general is also part of reforms submitted to the Congress on 26/02/2016. To be adopted, these reforms must receive 75% of the vote (with a quorum of at least 50% of national federations).
