"CONCACAF will not vote in bloc, everyone can vote for the candidate of their choice. That is our position. Each individual is free to choose the candidate they want," said Jurgen Mainka, deputy secretary general of CONCACAF, after the 22nd Extraordinary Congress of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, in Zurich (SUI) on 25/02/2016.

Following a meeting of the member federations, in Miami (USA), on 11/02/2016, which was attended by Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, Jerome Champagne and Gianni Infantino -- four the five candidates for the presidency of FIFA (only Tokyo Sexwale was absent) -- CONCACAF announced that it was not officially supporting any candidate, but that a decision could be taken at its Congress on 25/02/2016, the day before the FIFA Electoral Congress, held in Zurich on 26/02/2016.
