FIFA: Blatter, Valcke, Kattner accused of having "personally enriched" themselves, €70m in 5 years

"The evidence appears to reveal a coordinated effort by three former top officials of FIFA to enrich themselves through annual salary increases, World Cup bonuses and other incentives totalling more than CHF 79m (about €70m) - in just the last five years (2011-2015)," stated Bill Burck, a lawyer from the US law firm Quinn Emanuel, which has conducted an internal investigation within FIFA, on 03/06/2016.

The three former executives implicated by the evidence uncovered by the international federation are Joseph Blatter, the former FIFA president from 1998 to February 2016, Jérôme Valcke, the former secretary general of the body from 2007 to January 2016, and Markus Kattner, the former deputy secretary general, dismissed on 23/05/2016.

FIFA published on its website, on 06/03/2016, a list of charges against the three executives, including breaches of fiduciary duty, suspect clauses in their contracts, and the payment of bonuses related to 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups.
