"The party is already somewhat spoiled. This is not the image which we want to give, it is not the best way to welcome foreign fans coming to France," said Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS, on the subject of the strikes, which include SNCF (French national railway), on 10/06/2016, the day of the opening match of Euro 2016, France-Romania, at the Stade de France (kick-off at 21:00).

"The difficulties will not impact the competition. We will mobilise, as appropriate, a solution involving private companies so as to assure mobility of the teams and the referees. But the match takes place for spectators and this has made their situation quite complicated. Foreigners make up two thirds of the Euro 2016 fan community in France. If they can not come here, or travel, it will be very unfortunate, very unfortunate," added Jacques Lambert on France Inter radio on 10/06/2016.
