Matchday 5 of the 2016-17 Serie A TIM season, - played mid-week from 20 to 21/09/2016 - drew and average of 19,703 spectators per game, while Matchday 6 - played over the weekend from 24 to 26/09/2016 - drew an average of 19,202. The average attendance of the Italian league this season is currently 20,460 spectators per game, for an average stadium fill rate of 53%.

Inter Milan - Bologna (1-1) drew the highest attendance of these two matchdays, with 42,274 spectators at the San Siro (fill rate: 52%), on 28/09/2016.

The FC Crotone - Atalanta BC match (1-3) drew the lowest attendance, with only 522 spectators: it was played in Pescara, 600 kilometers north of Crotone, due to the continuing work at the Stadio Ezio Scida, the stadium of FC Crotone. Only two games (of 20) in Matchdays 5 and 6 drew more than 30,000 spectators, and only three games recorded a fill rate above 70%.
