The NFF (Nigerian Football Federation) has imposed a life ban on all players, officials and technical and administrative staff from four Nigerian second division clubs, on the 22/07/2013, following investigations into two matches that took place in July 2013.

In the play-offs, Police Machine FC from Yola and Plateau United from Jos, who both needed big wins to gain promotion to the first division, beat Babayaro FC from Gombe and Akurba FC from Nasarawa, 67-0 and 79-0 respectively (with 61 and 72 goals scored in the second halves).

The four clubs have been banned from all official competitions for 10 years.

  • "The football world will be informed of our decision and we will send FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) the names of all players and officials with their photos and details.
  • The referees and delegates are also banned for life for not taking responsibility and allowing these games to continue."
