Match-fixing: the International Center for Sport Security joins the Council of Europe's EPAS

Qatar-based non-for-profit organisation ICSS (International Center for Sport Security) has been accepted as a member of the EPAS (Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport) Consultative Committee, the organisation announced on the 01/08/2013.

Established by the Council of Europe, the EPAS provides a pan-European platform for intergovernmental sports cooperation between the public authorities of its member states and encourages dialogue between public authorities, sports federations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

The ICSS will join 25 sports organisations on its Consultative Committee, including the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and UEFA (Union of European Football Associations). The ICSS is already an official partner of the Council of Europe as it works towards a draft international convention to combat the manipulation of sports results.

The organisation will share the output of the ICSS-University Paris 1 - Panthéon-Sorbonne partnership. This will include the findings of its research programme on 'Ethics and Sport Security', which is focusing on the links between…
