UEFA suspends two Armenian officials who tried to manipulate the outcome of a Europa League game

On the 07/08/2013, the chairman of the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) Control and Disciplinary Body has decided to suspend with immediate effect, and for any football-related activities, two Armenian officials who admitted having tried to fix the outcome of a Europa League game on the 11/07/2013.

In a hearing at the HFF (Football Federation of Armenia), referee Andranik Arsenyan and assistant referee Hovhannes Avagyan admitted having tried to rig the score of the Europa League first qualifying round second-leg game between Inter Turku (FIN) and Vikingur (FRO) (0-1, 1-1 in the first leg).

A disciplinary proceeding has also been opened in accordance with Article 12 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations, related to the integrity of matches and competitions, and match-fixing.

The case will be dealt with by the Control and Disciplinary Body on the 22/08/2013 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
