LaLiga: Barcelona open an academy 100% managed by the club on the Chinese island of Hainan

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) will build an academy on the island of Hainan in southern China, in partnership with the Mission Hills Group, a Chinese company specialising in hotels, sport, and leisure, announced the Catalan club on 24/02/2017. The academy will be fully managed by FC Barcelona. This agreement has been previously validated by the socios of the club.

FC Barcelona and the Mission Hills Group have signed an agreement that will unite the two entities until 2018-19, with an extension option of two years. In addition to the academy, the club will open, on Hainan, a "Barça experience space", which will include an interactive area about the club's history, a large store, and a restaurant zone."
