Swansea City AFC: turnover of £97.2m (-6%) and net loss of £14.6m in 2015-16

Swansea City AFC (Premier League) posted a turnover of £97.2m (€114.9m on 31/07/2016) during the 2015-16 fiscal year (01/08/2015 to 31/07/2016), down 6% compared to the 2014-15 fiscal year (£103.9m / €147.7m at the time), announced the English club on 04/03/2017. The decrease in revenue is enhanced when converted into euros because of the change in the pound-euro exchange rate between July 2015 and July 2016 (£1 = €1.42 on 31/07/2015 against 1£ = €1.18 on 31/07/2016).

Swansea City AFC recorded a net loss of £14.6m (€17.2m) on 31/07/2016, while the club had a net profit of £1.1m in the previous year. "The club is currently on course to record a post-£10m (€11.5m) profit for the current financial year (on 31/07/2017) to counter those losses and maintain the club's long-standing sound financial philosophy," stated Swansea City on 04/03/2017.

Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, two American businessmen, becoame majority shareholders of Swansea City AFC on 05/06/2016. They appear at the head of an investor group who acquired a majority stake in the club.
