England: Queens Park Rangers plan to build a new 40,000 all-seater stadium in London

Queens Park Rangers (relegated to the Championship in 2013/14, the English second division) plan to build a 40,000-seat stadium in London's Old Oak Common, near Loftus Road, the current club's stadium (capacity of 18,000 seats). QPR are negotiating with Hammersmith and Fulham council and the Greater London Authority, the club announced on the 21/08/2013.

The stadium project would be part of the redevelopment plan for the Canary Wharf business district, located along the Thames river, and estimated €11.7bn. QPR could be asked to contribute € 234m to the project. The club would be able to raise funds with the sale of Loftus Road, whose property value is high.
