Premier League: £110m in pre-tax losses for clubs in 2015-16, after two seasons of profit (Deloitte)

The 20 Premier League clubs have accumulated pre-tax loss of £110m in 2015-16 (€132m on 30/06/2016), according to a study by the Sports Business Group of the UK branch of the audit firm and consulting Deloitte, on 24/04/2016.

Premier League clubs had posted cumulative profits in the two seasons prior, with a pre-tax profit of £190m (€237.5m on 30/06/2014) for 2013-14, and £120m (€169m on 30/06/2015) for 2014-15. These profit of those two seasons put an end to 15 consecutive seasons of cumulative loss since 1998.

The cumulative revenues of the Premier League clubs reached a record of £3.6bn (€4.35bn) in 2015-16, up 5.8% compared to 2014-15 (£3.4bn, €4.81bn at the time). The 2014-15 season was the third season in the 2013-2016 cycle of the Premier League audiovisual rights. A new TV rights cycle began in 2016-17.
