Pay-TV: a global market in excess of $202bn in 2016, then expected to decrease to $200bn by 2022

Pay-TV revenue, which totalled $202.146bn in 2016, is expected to drop to $199.731bn by 2022, which is a slight decline of 1.2% ($2.415bn), according to an estimation based on a pay-TV study published by Digital TV Research on 08/05/2017.

However, the pay-TV market has not yet matured worldwide. "Revenues will more than double for 13 countries between 2016 and 2022," said Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research. "India will add the most revenues by some distance, with China also recording impressive gains. Asia will account for seven of the top 10 gainers," added Murray.
