Premier League: 35,819 spectators per game on average (-1.6%) and a fill rate of 96% in 2016-17

The 20 Premier League clubs recorded an average attendance of 35,819 spectators per game during the 2016-17 season, a decrease of 590 spectators per game on average (-1.6%) compared to the 2015-16 season. This figure ranks the Premier League second among the European Top 5 leagues in terms of average attendance, behind the Bundesliga (41,492 spectators per game).

With 75,288 spectators per game at Old Trafford (75,643 seats), Manchester United FC are the English club which recorded the highest attendance in the Premier LEague in 2016-17. The club posted a fill rate of more than 99%, and had the third best average attendance of the European Top 5 leagues, behind Borussia Dortmund (79,653 spectators) and FC Barcelona (78,504).

Four other English clubs - Arsenal FC (60,260), West Ham United FC (56,972), Manchester City FC (54,019), and Liverpool FC (52,976) - are among the 13 clubs in the Top 5 leagues with an average of over 50,000 spectators per game.
