England: EFL changes its regulations to encourage the injection of reliable foreign capital

"The clubs voted through a number of amendments to the current Owners' and Directors' Test regulations at the AGM on 08/06/2017" said the EFL, in charge of organising the Sky Bet Championship, League One, and League Two divisions in England, on 09/06/2017.

The purpose of these amendments is threefold:
- "Ensure that any applicant under the test becomes bound by the regulations upon completion of a declaration.
- Clarify that provision of false information in a declaration can of itself constitute a disqualifying condition under the test.
- Extend the disqualifying condition concerning the commission of a criminal offence within this country to anyone who has engaged in similar conduct overseas, whether or not it has resulted in a conviction," stated the EFL.

"The 20 club chairmen voted unanimously to approve changes to the Premier League's Owners' and Directors' Test at its annual shareholder meeting on Thursday, 08/06/2017," reported Sky News on 09/06/2017. This information has not been confirmed by the Premier League.
