FIFA plenary and joint statement from the two Ethics Committee's chambers in Zurich

The adjudicatory and investigatory chambers of the ethics committee of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) held a plenary session at the headquarters of the international institution in Zurich (Switzerland), on the 13/09/2013.

"At this session, we took the opportunity to introduce the independent deputy chairs (or 'delegates Presidents') and new members of each chamber. A presentation was made reviewing key issues related to the FIFA Code of Ethics and related processes," said the presidents of the two chambers, American Michael J. Garcia (investigatory) and German Hans-Joachim Eckert (adjudicatory).

"The Ethics Committee emphasised a commitment to addressing violations of the non-discrimination provision in FIFA’s Code of Ethics as well as the rules against match manipulation. Both Chairs stressed the independence of the Ethics Committee and its responsibility to fully implement the ethics reforms approved by the FIFA Congress," they added.
