The DFB recorded a turnover of €290.2m (16.1%) in 2016 (from 01/01 to 31/12/2016), compared to €250m in 2015, according to the German Football Federation in its 2016 financial report published on 24/07/2017. "The foreseeable increase in earnings in all divisions is attributable to the special effects of the Euro 2016," said DFB.

The DFB recorded €294.7m (+17%) in expenditure for 2016 (€251.8m in 2015) and a profit for the financial year of €7.8m "after the planned use of part of the reserves (€12.3m)". The total reserves of the DFB amounted to €162.3m as of 31/12/2016. DFB invested €43.5m into amateur football in 2016.
