UK: Sky extends English Football League TV League rights for £180m per year (press)

The British pay-TV group Sky plc will extend its rights to broadcast English Football League (EFL) competitions in the UK, according to the British daily The Guardian of 08/08/2017. The amount of the agreement would be £180m per year (€200m), or about 2.3 times more than in the 2015-2018 cycle. Sky would have entered into exclusive negotiations with the EFL to determine the duration of this new commitment (three or five years).

As in the 2013-2019 period, the agreement would cover the live broadcast each season, on Sky Sports' pay channels, 148 Sky Bet Championship (2nd division), Sky Bet League One (3rd division), Sky Bet League Two (4th Division), Carabao Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy, as well as summaries and video clips of all the matches of these competitions.

Sky plc had extended its broadcasting rights of the EFL in the United Kingdom on 19/02/2015.
