Israel-Palestine: a protocol under the supervision of FIFA to facilitate the movement of players

IFA (Israeli Football Federation) and PFA (Palestinian Football Association) will establish a mechanism to facilitate the movement of footballers and goods within and outside of Palestine, the two federations announced on the 23/09/2013.

The system will be under the supervision of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). It includes the appointment of two liaison officers between the two federations by the relevant authorities on each side, who shall report to FIFA. The date of implementation of this resolution has not been disclosed.

This decision was taken following a working meeting at FIFA's headquarters in Zurich (Switzerland), on the 03/09/2013, in the context of the Israel-Palestine Task Force. Avi Luzon, president of the IFA, Jibril Al Rajoub, president of the PFA, as well as representatives of FIFA, AFC (Asian Football Confederation, to which is affiliated Palestine) and the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations, to which is affiliated Israel) were present.
