Brazil 2014: 1 million daily visitors on FIFA.com during the play-offs in September

The 2014 World Cup qualifiers have attracted an average of 1 million daily visitors on FIFA's (Federation Internationale de Football Association) web site, the international body announced on the 23/09/2013. "The interest in the competition reached an all-time high during September’s qualifiers on FIFA.com," it stated.

30% of these visits were made through a mobile phone or other portable devices, such as tablets. Desktop visitors spent an average 18 minutes on World Cup-related content. Since September 2012, 1.6 billion pages were viewed on FIFA.com. In 2006, at the same stage of qualification for the World Cup in Germany, 680 million pages were viewed, against 1 billion in 2010 for the World Cup in South Africa. This represents an increase of attendance by 135% compared to 2006 and 60% compared to 2010.

  • FIFA.com expects new records "before the end of 2013 with the final round of qualifiers in October, inter-continental play-offs in November and the draw for the final of the 2014 World Cup, on the 06/12/2013 Salvador (BRA).
