Facebook: 72.6 million fans in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (September 2017)

The 18 clubs in the Bundesliga 2017-18 season have a cumulative 72.6 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data recorded by News Tank Football on 01/09/2017. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and the Serie A TIM, and has an average of 4.03 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich remains the most followed German club, with 43.53 million fans, up 266,407 (+0.6%) compared to early August 2017. No other Bundesliga club has drew more fans than Bayern during the past month, in absolute value.

At 2.4% (from 264,066 to 270,295), TSG 1899 Hoffenheim posted the best percentage growth on Facebook in August 2017. RB Leipzig had the 2^nd highest percentage growth (+1.9%, from 321,247 to 327,263). Over the entire 2016-17 season, Leipzig saw a 88% increase in Facebook fans (the high mark in the Top 5 leagues), taking advantage of its good results in the Bundesliga (2^nd in the final 2016-17 table, and qualification to the group stage of the 2017-18 Champions League).
