Bundesliga: Bild will broadcast highlights on the Internet 40 minutes after the end of the meetings

German digital and press publishing group Axel Springer has acquired from the DFL (German professional football league) the rights to broadcast highlights of league matches 40 minutes after the final whistle, instead of 60 as originally planned, on the online version of daily newspaper Bild, the company announced on the 20/09/2013. This decision follows the conflict between Axel Springer and broadcaster Sky Deutschland.

Axel Springer has been holding the rights to broadcast Bundesliga highlights on mobile devices for 2013-2016. The company has been offering "Bild bei Bundesliga" to its clients, which allows Bild digital subscribers, for an extra € 2.99 per month, to have access to highlights from 90 seconds to six minutes of fixtures of the German championship, an hour after the final whistle.

Sky Deutschland, which holds the rights to live broadcast on television and on the Internet, the Bundesliga in Germany for the 2013-2016 period, has launched on the 01/08/2013, an application for mobile and tablet devices "Sky Sports News App", allowing users, for €4.49 per month to watch live…
