Twitter: 12.35 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (September 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season have a cumulative total of 12.35 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data recorded by News Tank Football on 01/09/2017. The Bundesliga, which surpassed 10 million followers in March 2017, is the least followed European Top 5 leagues on Twitter, with 686,235 followers on average per club.

FC Bayern Munich is the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.95 million followers, up 124,714 followers (+3.3%) compared to the beginning of August 2017. The Bundesliga is the only Top 5 league in which no club has more than 4 million followers.

Aside for the two promoted clubs, Borussia Mönchengladbach is the Bundesliga club which posted the best percentage growth in August 2017 (+6.5%). The club recorded an increase of 25,153 followers, up to 414,284 subscribers as of 01/09/2017.
