Twitter: Top 100 European clubs with the most followers (September 2017)

With 43.48 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most followed European club on Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football, which maintains a Top 100 of the most popular European clubs on this social network as of 09/01/2017.

To establish this Top 100, News Tank Football counts the followers of the clubs' main Twitter account, but also those of the additional accounts in foreign languages. For example, FC Barcelona has fewer followers on its Spanish account than Real Madrid, second in the ranking, but the Catalan club is ahead of it thanks to a higher number of followers on its other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (second with 41.79 million followers) are at the top of the European ranking, and are the only two clubs to have more than 40 million subscribers. Among the 10 most followed clubs on Twitter, in addition to Barça and Real, are five Premier League clubs, two from the Turkish Süper Lig, and one from the Ligue 1 Conforama.
