Champions League: Nissan (automobiles) extends as an official partner until 2021

The Japanese automaker Nissan has extended as an official partner of the Champions League for the 2018-2021 cycle, UEFA announced on 11/09/2017. This is the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the Champions League. The partnership also includes the 2018, 2019, and 2020 editions of the European Super Cup. Nissan succeeded the American brand Ford as the official car partner of the Champions League at the end of the 2013-14 season. The annual amount paid by Nissan to UEFA is estimated at €54m per season for the 2014-2018 period.

As part of the partnership, Nissan gets visibility in the UEFA Champions League and European Super Cup stadiums, as well as in UEFA's communication platforms. The brand activates its partnership on digital platforms with the "Goal of the Week", which allows fans to vote for their favorite goal during each week of competition and win prizes. This will be further strengthened, said UEFA. Since 2014-15, Nissan provides UEFA with a range of vehicles for the transportation of referees, officials, delegates, and VIPs.
