LaLiga Santander: Real Madrid to open a 12,000 square meter theme park in China in 2021

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) have signed a partnership agreement with Lai Sun Group, a conglomerate based in Hong Kong (CHN), to open a theme park inspired by the Madrid club on 11/09/2017. The 1.2-hectare Real Madrid Theme Park, scheduled to open in 2021, will be part of the Novotown tourist complex (see photo) on Hengqin Island (Guangdong Province), near Macao.

It will include interactive spaces with the use of virtual reality (immersive mini-games in particular), a club museum, as well as shops and restaurants. Real Madrid and Lai Sun Group should have signed a 10-year license agreement from 2021, renewable for another 10 years, according to Spanish media. This license agreement would allow the Spanish club to collect a portion of the profits made by the complex, according to the same sources.
