Germany: _wige Media AG takes the name of its flagship product, Sporttotal AG, its digital platform

_wige Media AG has officially changed its name to Sporttotal AG, the German media group said on 04/09/2017. The new name, ratified at the general meeting of the group on 20/07/2017, has officially changed in the business registers.

"Sporttotal AG is much stronger for the future business model of our company than the previous company. For example, in our new digital platform sporttotal.tv we see a major growth driver for the company. Sporttotal AG is thus a new and promising chapter in the company's history," said Peter Lauterbach, CEO of group which has reorganized its activities into three areas: 'venues', 'live', and 'digital'.

"The Venues division realizes the technical infrastructure necessary for the medialization of sports events nationally and internationally. The Live division organizes and markets events and accompanies them with content that makes a positive contribution to branding ('branded content'). With Digital, sporttotal.tv has set up a rapidly scalable digital business model," said the group in a press release.
