Ligue 1 Conforama: FC Nantes plan "Yellopark" project to build a 40,000 seat private stadium by 2022

The YelloPark project to build a 40,000 seat private stadium, in place of the current Stade de la Beaujoire, by summer 2022 was unveiled by Waldemar Kita, president of FC Nantes (Ligue 1 Conforama); Johanna Rolland, mayor of Nantes; and Yoann Joubert, president and CEO of the real estate engineering group Réalités; on 19/09/2017.

The project also includes the construction of a sports and wellness complex, housing, local shops, a market, and parking, all for an estimated amount of €200m.

100% financing will be provided by the private company, YelloPark, whose shareholders will include, in equal share, the Realities Group and a company owned by Waldemar Kita. "Not a penny of Nantes public tax money will be used in this project. It is not for public money to finance these projects," said Johanna Rolland.

The stadium will belong to YelloPark and FC Nantes will be the tenant. YelloPark's two shareholders plan to contribute "between €10m and €15m" to the financing of the project.
