FIFA and Interpol launch programmes to educate on the dangers of match-fixing

FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) has joined forces with Interpol, the international police organisation, to launch four online learning programmes to educate players, coaches and referees on match-fixing, on the 26/09/2013.

The programmes focus on different groups often targeted by match-fixers. Young players, referees, coaches and professional players have at their disposal a programme completely dedicated to them. Users have access to exercises and quizzes in a fun and interactive way. They face several real-life scenarios where they are asked to have an influence, direct or indirect, over the fixing of a game. The programme also provides legal definitions and explanations on the dangers of match-fixing.

Programmes are available in five languages (German, English, Arabic, Spanish and French), both on the websites of FIFA and Interpol. Various audiovisual elements accompany the programme to enhance interactivity.
