NBA: Wish (e-commerce) jersey sponsor of the Los Angeles Lakers from 2017-18 ($13m per season)

Wish, an American e-commerce platform, has become the jersey sponsor for the Los Angeles Lakers from the 2017-18 season, on 21/09/2017. It is a "several year" partnership according to the NBA franchise, and three years according to American media, until 2019-20, as part of the experimental jersey sponsorship programme was launched by the NBA, on 15/04/2016 (see below).

The annual sum will be between $12m and $14m (between €10.1m and €11.8m on 25/09/2017), according to American specialty media. This is the second most lucrative sponsorship deal made in the NBA, behind the $20m (€16.7m) per season deal between Rakuten (e-commerce, finance, and digital content) and the Golden State Warriors, for three seasons, on 12/09/2017.

As part of the deal, the Wish logo will appear on the left pectoral of the Los Angeles Lakers jersey. In addition, Wish will be able to activate its partnership through fan engagement actions at the Staples Center (19,000 seats) and on the Lakers' social network sites.
