French 75% tax: "An estimated €40m impact on clubs, €20m of it for PSG only" (R. Juanico)

"The tax amount is capped at 5% of the turnover. The financial impact on the French clubs has now been divided by half: it will reach nearly €40m, including €20m for PSG only" said Régis Juanico, MP (left-wing) from la Loire and special rapporteur of the Sports budget at the National Assembly, on the 30/09/2013.

"I think we reached a good compromise, after consultation with the professional football authorities, even if the parliamentary debate can still specify some implementing rules," added the MP to Le Monde.fr website.

"This tax will be paid for two years, in 2013 and 2014. The 50% tax base only applies to the annual gross remuneration part above €1m," said Régis Juanico. The exceptional solidarity tax on high salaries paid by companies consists of a 50% contribution paid by the employer on the portion of salary that exceeds one million euros per year, plus 25% payroll taxes.
