James Murdoch appointed chairman of the supervisory board of Sky Deutschland

James Murdoch has been appointed chairman of the supervisory board of Sky Deutschland, German subsidiary (54.8%) of the media company News Corp., the TV-channel announced, on the 26/09/2013. He takes over Chase Carey, in office since July 2010.

The Englishman, son of Rupert Murdoch (majority shareholder of News Corp.), joined Sky Deutschland's supervisory board on the 18/04/2013. He has been deputy CEO of News Corp. since March 2011, in charge of the TV group's international activity.

Sky Deutschland has several football TV rights, including the Bundesliga, Champions League and Europa League. The channel is broadcast in Germany and Austria.
