Ticketing: Juventus FC president Andrea Agnelli sanctioned by the Italian Federation

"The disciplinary section of the national tribunal of the FIGC has partially accepted the referral filed by an Italian federal prosecutor and redefined the requests made by imposing the following sanctions: Andrea Agnelli (president of Juventus, Serie A TIM) will receive a one year suspension and €20,000 (£17,600) fine, and Juventus FC will be asked to pay a €300,000 (£264,000) fine," said the Italian Football Federation on 25/09/2017.

These sanctions are part of the "ticketing case", for which Andrea Agnelli and the Turin club are suspected of having sold tickets to multiple matches (although the Italian regulations prohibit the sale of more than four places to the same person) to support groups linked to the Calabrian mafia and, therefore, to organised crime. These tickets were then supposedly destined for the black market.

"Following today's verdict from the FIGC's National Tribunal, Juventus Football Club announces that it will lodge an appeal to the FIGC Court of Appeal in the firm belief that the club is in the right, a fact which is yet to be properly acknowledged," stated…
